Surprise Views First Morning of Trip, We Parked at Night

We flew from the Midwest and drove to this BLM site when it was dark and as the sun rose, this was our view. It was around 95F at 5 in the morning. We were both completely amazed at everything. Nothing looked the same except our car and roads. We also hadn't had much sleep, so I am sure that enhanced the experience too.

A Buckhorn Cholla Species in Arizona #arizona #travel

I don't know what kind of plant this is, but the outside is peeling off and the inner structure is visible. We saw a lot of these at the BLM in Arizona, north of Phoenix. Edit: I found the name of this, it is Cylindropuntia echinocarpa, a species of Buckhorn Cholla. Thank you for watching.
