If you think about the thousands of years back, and the richness of culture, and how humans got to those intensities of culture in so many ways around the world and try to mesh it with the idea that once people didn't know how to make tools or build fires...... it seems like that would have had to be a VERY long time ago, if ever.... it is mind blowing! Some cultures believe their ancestors came from other star systems.... interesting too!

Paranoid family Lived In A Fallout Shelter To Prove It Worked

Your description is fabulous and informative as usual! There were signs that said "Fallout Shelter" all over cities too! My dad started to build one but decided that if we had a war like that, there would be no reason to come out into a world of nothing. Shelters are a great idea though if people live in tornado places, but not for flooding. Shelters can be made with dirt mounded over the top of them, so water doesn't get inside and drown people but are safe from flying objects and wind. I don't think people were paranoid, but the danger was on the news frequently I believe now as a form of propaganda. I also think it is a good idea to be prepared for disasters with food, water, and a way to stay warm safely. That farmer was right about no gas and electricity. Remember, our ancestors lived without a lot of modern convivences and survived, or we would not be here! It is good to know how to provide for yourself. Wars and disasters are real and can happen anywhere!
