Ancient earthen structures in Ohio become a UNESCO World Heritage Site

This is fabulous! There are so many sites that have been taken apart or plowed over, however, there are many still present and if people dig around, they can find. It is not known for sure when some of them were built. They or huge structures from shells and earth are all the way from San Franciso to the East Coast in America and into Canada down into South America! Many sites there is not much if anything known about them. It is a positive thing though to realize that the Americas had highly developed peoples on many levels. I just want to add that making structures does not mean people are more intelligent than those who did not.

Ladakh Clash On Cam: Indian Shepherds 'Pelt Stones' On Chinese Troops In...

It is interesting that I have never heard of this part of the world! Brave people who are directly standing their ground against military! I hope there are no deaths due to the disputes. What a beautiful area this all is. I did some research; people have been there for thousands of years. Amazing, I hope it can get resolved without death. Agriculture is better than military because one helps people survive, the other doesn't, just makes money for the ruling people.

This was made by me this morning, hahahahaha.

1930s USA - 38 Photos of the Great Depression in America (Colorized)

I think we are in this same position now in USA, except people seem to have had better shelters then.... there were less laws, but there was also less help. This is a great collection and looks wonderful colorized, but many groups of people are not in this short video. It makes me fully believe we need to always be ready, if possible, to be independent, and at the same time help others if we can.
The dug-out shelter is sort of what I grew up in. My dad bought a small piece of land and built our house with masonry blocks, partially into the hill, so it was actually a half basement style. It had a kitchen, bathroom and one big room that we used curtains to separate for sleeping.
As time went by, he built an upstairs and eventually there were three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a washing room, entryway big enough to hang out with others or even sleep in, and an enclosed porch. We had a mud driveway that he eventually got blacktop on it when my brothers worked for the city and brought in left over stuff, so for free! He also got a few other buildings for free when people wanted them taken down!
We did lots of things to eat like fish and grow stuff, and to make money like sell handmade things and babysit. In many ways it was great! I got feisty as a teen and didn't think my parents knew anything so moved away avoiding them as much as possible for a long time. Funny thing is my dad was very insistent on keeping connected and bugged me a lot, and gradually I learned how much they did know, and we grew closer again. They are both gone now, but that house still stands!
