Growing misery in Texas as power struggle persists
People survived thousands of years with no air-conditioning, it just started becoming popular in the 1960's. They also didn't have electricity once. We need to be better prepared and not put it all on someone else. Houses could also be built to be cooler and more efficient! I am sad people lost their lives, but I remember working with no air conditioning anywhere when I was young..... none in grocery stores, nursing homes, factories, houses, cars, offices! There have been some great movies made about the heat... Some believe the heat helps heal, like a sweat lodge or sauna.

All the comments are so positive! People need water, and this is great of this man to use what is available. I live in the Midwest, and there are many areas where there are hand pumps, and also artesian wells, but most you have to go out to the country to find. In town, there are still many water fountains shut down since COVID. Everyone in a city should know this skill and have the wrench! Chile is facing a homelessness crisis like never before
This is interesting to me because I always thought of Chili as a poor country, so I was naive. I hope all people have enough food, clean water and a safe place to live. USA is really bad with homeless and has passed a law that cities may arrest people for sleeping on the streets! That is awful, I think! Where do you go if you don't have money?
