Mountain Living Reality Check: No Heat, No Gas, No Firewood (Hawk's Podcasts / mdg650hawk channel)
Oh... what fun! You are buying? Fabulous! The first year is great for things like this... and if you survive... you will remember fondly and like a warrior! Check list should include watching the channel CheapRVliving to learn about how to survive with no electricity.... like using the generators that recharge with solar or electricity.... I have one.... and then you can use other things off it, like your phone, lights, computer etc. Power WILL go out at some point..... you will want some things.... I have a few lights that are USB rechargeable that I love! Also, flashlight.... candles are dangerous and not necessary with all the stuff we have these days.... Go to a thrift store and get some extra things like snow pants, and blankets! Save your money for good steak! Also good to have things to eat you don't have to cook, like peanut butter and crackers..... oddly enough lots of garbage bags could be handy for many things including going to the bathroom..... and toilet paper..... Canned meats and stews can be delightful... but will freeze if no power (so will your water pipes! might need insulation around) Cast iron pans work in every situation! Water filtration is a good idea too. Whatever you can afford..... and then I like to have simple things like pain reliever, tooth ache med, toothpaste, extra tooth brushes, anti diarrhea medicine and constipation , anti nausea....... some chocolate..... and one of those windup weather radio flashlights that aren't very expensive! Love to you, have fun! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMaquO5LOGo
