I made friends with an older man several years ago that taught me a lot about good food. One thing he had a really hard time with was that people don't grow food but grow ornamental plants in their yards. I planted this sour cherry several years ago and have gotten free food every year since. I have enough most years, to freeze and use during the winter. Last year was very wet at first, then very dry and I didn't have many, but this year we have more than I remember for years! After harvest, I am going to trim it though, and keep it healthy! I get thrilled every time I see the price of cherries and cherry juice in the store!
