The funny thing to me is if I grew up with no negative thoughts or beliefs of these things, I would simply take it as part of life, just like when I see a new plant or animal or meet new people. It would not be any traumatic event; it would be normal. I still do get surprised at the beauty and awesomeness of life of any kind, but not instant terror.
