Having a room, like a basement, is automatically cooler with no electricity! My dad built our house as a basement that he gradually built up on, but the kitchen stayed in the lower part, and our neighbors would come over just to hang out and talk because it was so comfortable in there! There are ancient buildings in Iran that use underground water and towers in buildings to cool with no electricity too!

I would say, just looking at this, and knowing your father built this with his dad, that he must have had a wonderful life, having cancer for a short time is a blessing, but, I am sorry for you losing him, (although I don't think he is really lost, just not physically able to talk to you like before). What a wonderful gift this cabin and the land are! If you can, take some time to spend a few days there as often as possible!

Life is really short, even though it doesn't seem like it sometimes. I am 69, and just retired a little over a year ago, and feel like I spent a lot of my life trying to make sure my house was paid off and bills etc..... now, looking back, I feel like I sacrificed a lot of time with my own children who are now in their 40s, with their own kids who are almost all adults too....

I am not complaining, I did what I thought was right and we all love each other a lot, but.... I am realizing how important each moment is! I shouldn't be telling you what to do, maybe you don't even like being out in a cabin.....

but, do what makes you happy, and spend time with loved ones, and sometimes by yourself too! Thank you so much for sharing this, I am a touch envious, but so happy for you! I will be dreaming about being in this place in my mind when I want to feel calm!

I am 69, and smoke..... and I can definitely feel short of breath over not doing much of anything..... I cough in the morning a lot, and on and off during the day..... I quit once for over a year.... and almost went insane and ate WAY too much chocolate.....

I want to quit again, so started vaping.... but, it just is not the same as the pull on a cigarette..... so dang addicting!

I roll my own or could never be able to afford them.... But.... do I like smoking..... yes.... I retired a little over a year ago, and my only thing that I had a plan of was to do nothing but sit outside and smoke! Hahahaha..... I do that often.... but also, keep trying to quit.... hahahaha! Woman Lost Limbs After Dog Licked Her #shorts

Considering how healed her legs are, she had the amputations happen quite a while ago, so she has had time to adjust. She seems happy, and is beautiful, and has support, but please, if that ever happens to me, don't do the amputations, simply give me morphine and let me go to sleep.... to God.

I feel like it is everyone's choice what treatment they want done, but if it is done while in a coma, she didn't have a choice.

I don't know if I could make that decision for someone else either. I think it is a good idea for people to talk about these things with their loved ones before anything happens, so their family will know what choices to make.

I hope she lives a happy life, and never has any further complications. I hope that somehow, she finds a way to make lots of money from this horrible situation and can have everything she needs to make life good for her!

Looking at CHEAP Land to Live In a Camper On (LEGALLY!)

It would be nice to own a piece of land I could use as legal address, if I ever needed to, is one thing I have thought more than once. If I am living in my vehicle, I would be ok with using BLM land often, but there are things that happen, like breakdown. 30 days maximum to stay on my property camping is a lot of pressure. I think some areas allow an outdoor toilet, but a person has to check all these things out. You didn't mention HOA fees, I want property with none of that!

Also, some property is called recreational, which is different too. And.... some people think about having animals etc, that all depends on what the property is zoned for. One thing too... I have been out there.... agriculture can ruin your day with odors, dust, chemical use, and there are areas where animals like mules and cattle run free, and that is the way it is.

Also.... so many things to hurt you out there, the ground is covered in poky things in some places, no bare feet, bugs and snakes that bite and no hospitals close....... The heat too.... wow! Some areas get flooded, but you can't tell because it is dry most of the time. But.... it is beautiful! It is sooooooo beautiful! The hot arid air is so intense, but I feel like it healed me.... and it can kill you quickly..... but, if you are prepared..... you might just find it is the best thing you ever did.

Also, in the ground, is hardpack.... almost impossible to dig through, and adding water can bring salt up to ruin your land, so you need to talk to people about how to deal with it all. It is kind of like being on another planet! With a little bit of money though, you could put up a roof over your camper to help cool it, you can use solar, you can haul water, you can figure it all out. There are lots of videos on how.

Something was going wrong before the child fell completely because the car puts their brakes on and swerves away.... no coincidences.... this is a great reminder to everyone to walk a bike through a narrow thing like that. We have a spot in my town that freaks me out like that only the sidewalk juts out right under a train bridge..... The dad was trying to do right, he had the child move to the inside of the sidewalk after they crossed.... I am glad no one was hurt!

The silt that came out was a problem, but everything gradually is returning. As it was, the silt and toxins were sitting at the edge of those dams, but could not be seen.... like having a growth inside your body that is causing an illness.... the removal might need to heal over, but it will. I often think about how societies come and go.... USA will not always be here... it might be a good thing to get rid of the dams so people can survive.... maybe your great-great grandchildren..... I am not being negative..... just think about the changes in our societies in the past 500 years.... besides that.... if any of those failed, all that junk would still flow causing a disaster.... now the waters will flow freely and life will flourish.... this is all a gift for everything else... we need to enjoy what we have been given!
